Native to the Australian landscape, Buddha Wood (Eremophila mithellii) is considered a rare and sustainable essential oil for those looking for sandalwood alternatives (1,2). Traditionally used by the Indigenous community of Australia (3), we seek permission before harvesting the beautiful Buddha Wood shrubs in Northern NSW to ensure care and intention is honoured from the beginning of the extraction process.
With earthy / smokey notes and hints of floral, Buddha Wood is a fixative, meaning that it’s aromatic qualities transform when applied to the skin with a carrier oil (1).
Considered as grounding and balancing in aromatherapy (1,2), the essential oil is thick and deep in amber tones. A powerful aroma during meditative practice to remain present and in the body, promoting relaxation to the mind, body and spirit (1).
